The JSBE Foundation’s grant application period is open to master’s-level students at the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics. The application period has ended. The application period was from April 15th to May 15th, 2026.

The grant may be awarded as a “thesis boost” to support the completion of a Master’s thesis. Applicants are required to submit a free-form application explaining why the grant is needed and what kind of plan they have for completing their thesis.

The grant can be applied for by filling out the the official application form at the end of this web page. Applicants must attach a self-written application letter of no more than one page in PDF format, as well as their latest transcript of records.

Academic performance is not a selection criterion; the transcript is only used to verify the applicant’s study status.

In the application letter, applicants should freely describe how they intend to use this “one extra month of student financial aid as a thesis boost,” and what kind of plan they have for completing their Master’s thesis and graduating.

The grant amount is a fixed 500 EUR per applicant. It is tax-free income for the recipient and does not affect, for example, Kela income limits.

The JSBE Foundation board will review applications anonymously at its meeting in early June, and all applicants will be contacted by email during week 23. The grant will be paid to recipients during June, provided that the applicant has submitted their payment details to the foundation.

This year, the foundation will award thesis grants up to a maximum total of 3000 EUR.

The application period ended on May 15th 2026, at 11:59 PM. Late applications will not be considered.
